With the new trailer of SFIV out, I got inspired to draw SF again. I challenged myself to finish drawings and work different angles I never could as a kid. And as an early teen, I had an idea, that tried not to be too outlandish but fitting for a hero. So now I go back into the made up storyline I had down as kid and try to make it alive through various drawings and sketching - adding more weight than most fan fictions put in.
What to expect:
- This is basically a blog for mild, not so complete, not so colored sketches of Ryu and the idea I had as a kid for "True Ryu." If anyone wants to color them feel free to. Let me know and I'll send you the big original files.
- Most pics you'll see will be of Ryu. So if you're a Ryu fan throw some ideas down.
- Don't expect to see pics of just Ryu. Akuma, Dan, Ken, Sakura, and other shotos I'll draw on occasion.
- Most of the art will be based on a certain style of Capcom artists. Whenever I draw fan art of a video game, I tend to try to draw it in the style of the game-company's artist. Some people think that you should have your own style, but I'm not trying to become a professional artist. If I draw it in the style of another artist it's more of an homage. I tend to draw in a main artist's style and add in my own twists and influences I have picked up from other artists.
- Most pics will have longer descriptions that tell you what I was trying to go for (and I do mean "trying") and reasons I made changes to the characters' normal looks.
- Haha Im a freaking amateur. If you want really great SF pics go search for a ton at deviantart. I guarantee you the pics of SF characters you see in deviantart will be much better than mine. The only things I'm offering different are more story behind what I drew, a way to share ideas, and a story to go along with it.
- The art theme of this blog is "Post - SFIII," meaning the SFIV that most of us thought we were gunna get
- Important: Art as of now, will be categorized into 2 alternate storylines from the regular SF games. All you gotta know is:
- "Category A" - has to do with the True Ryu storyline I had in my head as a kid. All artwork in Category A has one story behind it. Category A art is drawn for the sake of telling a story.
- "Category B" - art is just me playing with different character's looks and not really having a full continuous storyline behind it. Category B is just a bunch of non-related ideas for SF characters. Category B art is drawn for the sake of idea.
I hope you enjoy what I throw at you. At times I feel like Im the biggest Ryu fan out there and I know there are other biggest Ryu fans out there too haha, so dont be afraid to throw some ideas towards me or comment.
